Our mission

To help you spend less time on email and get more work done.

Get through your emails faster than ever before. Take back control of your inbox. Turn wasted time into productive time.

DarwinMail was originally born because Google Inbox decided to shut down, but it has grown to become so much more. As soon as I heard the news, I started to panic.

  • I didn't want to change my email client again
  • I was saving so much time utilising the features provided by Google Inbox
  • The time I would need to switch clients, adjust my workflow to a new set of features and become familiar with a new product would take weeks

Essentially, what could I do to reduce the burden of switching email clients when Google Inbox shut down?

I built DarwinMail to solve this problem.

DarwinMail about us - our mission
DarwinMail about us - in the beginning

In the beginning..

DarwinMail started as my personal replacement for Google Inbox.

Within weeks, I had a working prototype. Soon after, I asked for feedback around the web and the response was phenomenal.

"Wait, what? You're replacing Google Inbox? Shut up and take my money!"

I couldn't believe it. How did I get such a positive response from a tool that I put together in a matter of weeks? Within days of asking for feedback, I had hundreds of emails, tweets and mentions around the web.

People were expressing their genuine happiness that I had taken on this project. Many die-hard Google Inbox/email productivity followers were so happy that they asked for my PayPal address so they could support me.

The AHA moment

I barely even had a chance to put together some of the core features and still I was receiving such constructive feedback and positive encouragement.

I knew I was on to something.

I worked day & night, weekends, during dinner & breakfast for months. I focused my efforts on the core functionality & the design while paying close attention to how I wanted the user to feel when using DarwinMail.. happy!

I want users to feel a sense of joy and relief when using DarwinMail.

I launched DarwinMail 8 months later on Product Hunt (April 20th, 2019). This was a big day for DarwinMail. The response was phenomenal.

Many words of encouragement were received on that day and the days that followed. Suggestions were made, bugs were reported and features were requested. All of which, I added to our public roadmap.

The future

Fast forward to today, and DarwinMail has grown in magnitudes.

  • We have been featured all over the web.
  • We have an up to date and user validated public roadmap.
  • And, most important of all, we have a thriving community of amazing people using DarwinMail.

I cannot thank you all enough, for your support, kindness and encouragement. I see great things in store for the future of DarwinMail.

Please join me on this journey!
